About the assignment

Region Stockholm is seeking two experienced construction managers for the project Subway to Arenastaden, one of Sweden's most extensive and strategically important infrastructure projects.

The assignments concern one construction manager per station:

  • Södra Hagalund

  • Arenastaden

As a construction manager, you will play a central role in the implementation of new subway stations with associated platforms, ticket halls, entrances, service tunnels, and ventilation shafts – in a complex urban environment with many stakeholders.

About the role

You will be part of the construction management organization of the sub-project and will be responsible for leading and following up on the construction works. The contracts are carried out in collaboration and on a running account basis.

You will work closely with the sub-project manager, design management, and other construction managers, representing the client in contacts with contractors, designers, authorities, businesses, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and follow up on the progress of the contract concerning time, cost, quality, and safety

  • Ensure that work is performed according to contract documents and stipulated requirements

  • Review designed documents and work preparations

  • Manage notifications, alerts, and changes

  • Actively participate in safety rounds and environmental rounds

  • Follow up on the contractor's quality and self-control work

  • Ensure compliance with requirements for work environment, environment, social sustainability, and quality

  • Coordinate work in time and space with adjacent contracts and sub-projects

  • Participate in financial follow-ups, forecasts, and invoice reviews

  • Immediately report deficiencies and, if necessary, stop work that poses risks to life and health

Collaboration and environment

The work requires close coordination with, among others:

  • Karolinska University Hospital

  • Karolinska Institute

  • Traffic Administration

  • Swedish Transport Administration

  • Other ongoing construction and civil engineering projects in the area

Working hours and on-call duty

  • Work may occur during unsociable hours

  • On-call duty may be applicable

  • Compensation for unsociable hours and on-call duty will be provided according to established levels after agreement with the project manager

We are looking for someone who has

  • Solid experience as a construction manager in civil engineering/infrastructure

  • Experience with stations, tunnels, or larger underground facilities

  • Good knowledge of contracts in collaboration and running account

  • Ability to work systematically in complex project environments

  • Strong communication skills and experience representing the client

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Practical information

  • Project office in Arenastaden (Dalvägen) or Södra Hagalund (Solnavägen)

  • Mandatory training according to the administration's requirements must be completed

  • The assignment may involve work during unsociable hours
